The install

What does a fiberglass pool install with Cole include?

A fiberglass pool install with Cole Landscaping & Pools covers the whole project, not only the shell. Stevon Cole and his crew start by designing the layout on paper, so you can see the finished backyard before any ground is broken. From there the crew excavates the site, sets the one-piece fiberglass shell, runs the plumbing, backfills around it, and builds the deck and surround.

The yard is then finished with artificial turf, rock or planting so the pool sits naturally in its setting. Every property in the Texas Panhandle is different, so the order and the details shift with your soil, your slope and your plans for the space. We work in Amarillo, Canyon, Bushland, Hereford, Dumas and Pampa. If you are weighing a fiberglass pool for your home, a conversation about your site is the best place to begin.

How an install unfolds

Six stages, from paper to planting

"Designing a project on paper enhances the customers experience and expectations. Also allowing a non-visual person to see the project in a completion phase."

Stevon Cole
  1. 01

    Design on paper

The project is drawn out first: where the pool sits, how it relates to the house, and where turf, planting and rock will go.

  2. 02

    Excavation

The crew marks the layout and digs to fit the shell. Access, soil and what lies beneath your yard shape how the dig is planned.

  3. 03

    Setting the shell

The one-piece fiberglass shell is lifted into the opening, set in position and checked for level before the work moves on.

  4. 04

    Plumbing and backfill

Plumbing is connected, and the space around the shell is backfilled so the pool is held securely in the ground.

  5. 05

    Deck and surround

The deck and surround are built around the water, giving the pool its edge and the yard a place to gather.

  6. 06

    Turf and planting

Artificial turf, rock and planting finish the space, so the pool reads as part of the whole yard.

The pool is only part of the yard

What surrounds a pool shapes how it feels every day. Artificial turf softens the edge of the deck, makes room for a putting green, and gives children and pets a place to play. In the dry Panhandle climate it is also a fair way to keep green space without regular watering.

Our landscape design brings the pool, the turf and the planting areas into one plan, with rock and boulders, dry creek beds, lighting and beds that suit the site. It all starts on paper, so the finished yard holds together.

Questions

Fiberglass pool installation, answered

What affects the cost of a fiberglass pool install in Amarillo?

The cost of a fiberglass pool install in Amarillo depends on the pool you choose, how easy the site is to reach, how much digging and grading the yard needs, and what surrounds the pool, such as decking, turf and planting. Every yard is different, so we look at yours before giving a quote.

How long does a fiberglass pool installation take?

The timeline for a fiberglass pool installation in Amarillo depends on your site, the permits involved and the weather. Access, soil and the size of the surround all play a part, and a project that adds turf or landscaping has more steps than a pool alone. Once we see your yard, we can talk through what to expect.

What is a fiberglass pool compared with other pool types?

A fiberglass pool is made as a one-piece shell, then set into an excavated opening at your home, which keeps the on-site work focused on setting, plumbing, backfill and the surround. Other pool types are formed or built on site with different materials and trade-offs. We install fiberglass pools, so we can tell you whether one suits your yard.

Can you add turf or a putting green around a fiberglass pool?

Yes. We install artificial turf around pools, and our work around Amarillo includes pool-side turf and putting greens. Turf can be planned into the layout from the start, so the pool, the deck and the green space fit together. It also suits the dry Panhandle climate, since it uses very little water.

Where do you install fiberglass pools?

We install fiberglass pools in Amarillo and across the Texas Panhandle, including Canyon, Bushland, Hereford, Dumas and Pampa. If your home is outside those towns, tell us about the site and we can let you know whether we can take on the project.
